Prof. Volker Schwieger Ehrenmitglied der FIG

Prof. Volker Schwieger erhielt die Urkunde am 15.09.2022 anlässlich der XXVII FIG Kongresses in Warschau überreicht. Das Bild zeigt ihn gemeinsam mit Stephen Djaba aus Ghana bei der Übergabe der Ernennungsurkunden durch den FIG-Präsidenten Prof. Rudolf Staiger. 

Die FIG ist die wichtigste international Organisation, die die Interessen der Vermesser und Geodäten weltweit repräsentiert. Es handelt sich um eine Vereinigung der nationalen Mitgliedsorganisatonen und umfasst alle fachliche Bereiche wie globale Vermessung, Geomatik, Geodäsie und die Geo-Informations-Gemeinschaft. Die FIG wurde am 18. Juli 1878 in Paris durch 7 nationale Organisationen (aus Belgien, Frankreich, Großbritanien, Italien, Spanien, Schweiz und Deutschland) gegründet. Sie ist eine von der UN anerkannte Nicht-Regierungsorganisation, die der Geodäten/Vermesser aus mehr als 120 Länder aus der ganzen Welt vertritt.

Based on his outstanding service Prof. Volker Schwieger was appointed as Honorary member of FIG (Federation Internationale de Geometres, International Federation of Surveyors, Internationale Vereinigung der Vermessungsingenieure). He received the certificate of appointment at September 15^th, 2022 during the XXVII FIG Congresses in Warsaw by the President of FIG Prof. Rudolf Staiger. FIG is the premier international organization representing the interests of surveyors worldwide. It is a federation of the national member associations and covers the whole range of professional fields within the global surveying, geomatics, geodesy and geo-information community. FIG was founded on July 18 1878 in Paris by delegates from seven national associations - Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Spain and Switzerland. It is a UN-recognized non-government organization (NGO), representing more than 120 countries throughout the world.
