Objectives:

Principles of point-wise and area-wise monitoring sensors and monitoring tasks; Network and deformation analysis; Distinguish between relative and absolute deformations; Develop and apply area-wise deformation analyses.

  • Fibre optic systems, gauges and extensometers
  • Terrestrial Laser Scanning: measurement process, registration, geo-referencing, error sources, accuracy
  • Overview of other 3D monitoring methods
  • Deformation analysis using the congruency model: two- and multi-epoch comparison, global test and localization
  • Area-wise deformation analysis approaches
